At Happy Smiles, we understand that arranging for your children to receive the best dental care possible can be quite expensive. Because of this, we accept most health and dental insurance plans including but not limited to:
If you are unsure of whether or not we accept your insurance, please give us a call at (804) 379-7855 and we will be happy to help you.
Insurance plans are important for ensuring that your children get the best dental care, but often, they are too costly for some families. At Happy Smiles, we understand this, which is why we are pleased to accept Medicaid, FAMIS, and Smiles for Children.
Medicaid is a federal government program that finances health care for families and individuals who cannot afford it. There are a number of factors which determine Medicaid eligibility, but generally, low-income families and children are eligible.
Dental services are part of Medicaid’s health program for children under 21 years of age. Through this program, it is possible for Medicaid to pay your dentist directly for routine dental checkups, fillings, emergency visits, and even braces.
FAMIS (Family Access to Medical Insurance Security) is a Virginia healthcare program designed to benefit uninsured children.
Like Medicaid, FAMIS eligibility depends on several factors, but if your child is a resident of Virginia, under 19 years of age, and is not covered by Medical Insurance, he or she may already be eligible.
FAMIS covers the cost of emergency and regular medical appointments, keeping co-payments as low as $2.00 per service. Many times under FAMIS, regular office visits are free.
Children who are covered by Medicaid or FAMIS in the state of Virginia receive dental care through the Smiles for Children program.
Coordinated by DentaQuest, the Smiles for Children program collaborates with dentists across the state to provide free dental service to enrolled children. Enrollment in the program begins automatically once your child begins receiving Medicaid or FAMIS.
Happy Smiles is proud to be involved with Smiles for Children. We appreciate the program and its affiliation with Medicaid and FAMIS because of our own commitment to quality, accessible dental care.
